The VIS1023 is a complete hardware/software solution to interface your plotting/printing application running on an SGI O2, Origin 200, or Origin 2000 (that has a free PCI bus slot) to a printer or plotter with a Versatec or Centronics interface. The VIS1023 consists of an IKON 10117 card bundled with the IRIX 6.3/6.4/6.5 device driver (on CD-ROM), and an installation and programming manual (also available online).

DMA: PCI Bus Master - burst data to the fifos at up to 40Mbytes/second
XFER RATE: maximum sustained data rate to the plotter is 2Mbytes/second (4Mbytes/second for some plotters)
INTERNAL FIFO: 16Kbytes of fifo buffer
I/O PORTS: one DB37-M connector - ribbon cable jumper selectable for Versatec Differential or Centronics interface.
DEVICE DRIVER: script install, character device driver with open, close, ioctl, and write interface.
